Nonprofits that impact our community may be eligible to apply for funds through NCCF’s main grants cycle. We prioritize funding organizations broadly serving New Canaan in a wide variety of quality-of-life initiatives, and organizations in Lower Fairfield County that are responding to issues of greatest need, with a current emphasis on our neighboring communities.
Grantmaking by the Foundation is directed by our Board of Directors with participation by local volunteers and guidance from the professional staff. Teams of board members and volunteers make site visits to organizations to evaluate requests for funding. Donors who have supported the Foundation and are interested in getting more involved with our work may want to become a grantmaking volunteer and join in this unique effort.
Our grant investments support general operating, programs and projects, capital campaigns, and the capacity of individual nonprofits as well as the local nonprofit sector.
