Michael Reed
Since 2010, Michael Reed has been the President of M J Reed Investment Consulting which provides investment strategy advice and portfolio management and consulting services for individuals and small institutions. From 2014 through 2022, he was a Senior Quantitative Researcher and Portfolio Manager at Zebra Capital Management. Earlier in his career, he spent 15 years as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in the Process Trading Group (PDT). He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Science from Rice University.’
Michael is a Board Member and the Treasurer of the Jericho Project, a non-profit in NYC that operates supportive housing and provides services to 2500 people annually, including two dedicated residences for Veterans. He is also the Chairman of the Kristin and Michael Reed Family Foundation which supports non-profit organizations seeking innovative solutions in the areas of education, health care and the protection of civil liberties.
Michael has volunteered with the NCCF Behavioral Health Committee since 2020 becoming Chief Investment Officer in May 2023. He also participated in the ARPA grant review committee last year. Michael has been married to Kristin for 24 years and is the father of NCHS graduates Elizabeth and Andrew. They have resided in New Canaan since 2014. He served as Committee Chair and as a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 70 and as a catechist at St Aloysius. Previously, he was on the board of the Regional YMCA of Western CT and the Town Board of Finance in Bridgewater, CT.
