Sara was born and raised in New Canaan, where she met her husband, Spencer, while attending NCHS. She has a BA in English and Elementary Education with a minor in Child Psychology from Assumption College. After teaching in the US, Singapore and England, these degrees and experiences would be put to further use raising their four children and volunteering within their various communities.

Upon their return to New Canaan, Sara has volunteered at her four children’s schools: NCNC, East Elementary School, Saxe Middle School and NCHS in a multitude of capacities. Most recently, she chaired the fundraising efforts on behalf of the New Canaan Public School District to renovate The Dome at NCHS. She has been actively involved throughout the community as a member of St. Aloysius, assisted Scouts BSA, served as a Board member for New Canaan CARES for three years, two as Chair, followed by serving as interim Executive Director. Sara recently joined the New England Dance Theater Board.

At the Community Foundation, she has volunteered on the Luncheon, Annual Appeal, Developmental and Strategic Planning Committees over the past decade, co-chairing the Annual Appeal in 2017, and currently serving on the Governance and Community Investments Committees, including Grant Review. Sara is extremely proud of the role NCCF plays in the Community and looks forward to continuing to serve on the Board.
