William Hines

Bill has been the Chief Medical Officer for the Stamford Health Medical Group since 2014, a practicing Internist specializing in Nephrology and an attending physician at Stamford Hospital.  Earlier in his career, he was Chief of the Nephrology Division at St Joseph's Medical Center and later at Stamford Hospital. He was chair of the Medical Executive committee of Stamford Hospital. He was part of a collaborative project with Liberation Programs which brought behavioral health services to Stamford Health outpatient practices. He has been a consultant for Greenwich Hospital since 2008, He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Columbia University and an Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. He holds a BA from Amherst College and a MD from Cornell University. He completed his residency, and Clinical and Research Fellowships in Nephrology at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania.
 
Bill's past community activities include the board, executive committee and President of the National Kidney Foundation of Connecticut, trustee for the Fairfield County Medical Association and board member of the New Canaan Preservation Alliance. Bill has volunteered with the NCCF's Behavioral Health Committee since 2023. He has resided in New Canaan since 1989 with his wife, Sally, and they have raised three children. He enjoys gardening, golf, model trains as well as reading and watching British mysteries.
