Jim Clayton

Jim Clayton retired from GE Capital in 2016, where he was Senior Managing Director and head of the Leveraged Finance Group. Prior to joining GE, he was Senior Managing Director and co-head of the Private Equity Coverage Group at Deutsche Bank. Jim began his career at Bankers Trust Company in 1980, was promoted to Vice President in 1985, Managing Director in 1988, and Partner in 1995. Jim earned a B.A. in Economics from Kalamazoo College and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Michigan.

He is Vice Chair Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of Kalamazoo College, and is an emeritus member of the Corporate Advisory Board of the University of Michigan Business School, the Board of Trustees of the Congregational Church of New Canaan, and the Board of Governors of the Country Club of New Canaan.

Jim and his wife Barbara are originally from Michigan, and have resided in New Canaan since 1986. They have five children and three grandchildren. Barb is very active in the community, working with New Canaan EMS, Silver Hill Hospital and the Congregational Church of New Canaan.
