Jeff Williams

Jeff enjoyed a thirty-four year career as an investment banker, during which he advised major telecoms and media companies on strategic and capital markets transactions.

He then retired to a second career as a volunteer advocate for the resolution of the important issue of climate change. IN 2015, he founded and is the Chairman of the Alliance for Market Solutions, an organization that advocates with Congress on the advisability of a carbon tax. He was the founding co-chair and still serves on the Board of Environmental Defense Fund Action and also serves on the Board of the influential think tank, the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions.

Until 2018 when they became full-time residents in New Canaan, Jeff and his family divided their time between New Canaan and New York City. During that time, he volunteered on the Board of the New Canaan Library for ten years and, from 2013 to 2015 was instrumental in negotiating a renewed relationship between the Silver Hill Hospital and the New Canaan community. He serves on the Town-wide Affordable Housing Committee, the group that is charged with reviewing the multiple ways that New Canaan can satisfy its obligations to support the provision of housing that is affordable to the disadvantaged. He has served with the New Canaan Community Foundation as a volunteer in its grant-making initiative and is currently the Chair of the NCCF Board of Directors.
