Each year, New Canaan Community Foundation hosts a benefit luncheon that raises critical funds to support our work in the community. This year, we will highlight our local work in Education.

Our keynote speaker is Tara Westover.  Her first book, Educated, debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and remained on the list, in hardcover, for more than two years. A memoir of her upbringing in rural Idaho, the book was a finalist for a number of national awards and has been translated into 49 languages to-date. Time Magazine named Westover one of the 100 Most Influential People in 2019, and she was awarded the National Humanities Medal in 2023.  Her personal journey remains an example of the transformative power of education.  We are delighted to have Jane Stoddard Williams, a proud New Canaan native whose work in television and radio and passion for education have defined her work and volunteer life, join for a dynamic on-stage conversation.
