Grant Site Visits Underway

Each year, NCCF conducts site visits to nonprofit organizations that have requested funding through our annual grant cycle. These visits allow the Foundation to gain a deep understanding of the applicant’s operations, impact, and overall financial health. This year, 103 dedicated volunteers will visit 75 nonprofits to learn about their programming, meet their leaders, and evaluate the organization’s alignment with NCCF’s mission and values.

Site visits give our volunteers the opportunity to see NCCF’s nonprofit partners’ work in action while ensuring transparency in the grant review process. This hands-on and community-led approach builds trust between NCCF, our applicants, and the donors who entrust the Foundation with stewarding their generosity. Additionally, these visits give the Foundation a birds-eye view of the local nonprofit sector, enabling us to identify overarching challenges facing our community. With these insights, NCCF is able to offer guidance, connect organizations that have complementary programming and expertise, and foster collaboration that benefits the entire sector.

Our site visits began in late February and will continue through the end of March. If you’re interested in sitting in on an upcoming site visit, please contact Meg at msoffen@newcanaacf.org.  Stay tuned for the announcement of this year’s Grant Awardees and the Awardee Ceremony, which will take place in early June!
