 Individual Scholarships

Applications are now open for the Sapienza Scholarship! The Sapienza Scholarship is a need-based award that helps New Canaan residents of all ages who require financial assistance to continue their education.

Applications are due by Sunday, May 11, 2025, 11:30pm

• Awards up to $10,000 per year are available, which go directly to tuition payment.

• Unlike other awards, the Sapienza Scholarship is available for all four years of college.

• When you apply to the Sapienza Scholarship, you can also apply for the Dorrico Rotary Award (for public service) and the Silver Hill Scholarship (for students studying health care).

• Applicants enrolled internationally will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you're enrolled at an international school, contact Meg to determine if you’re eligible for the Sapienza Scholarship (Note: this does not apply to students studying abroad for a semester).

Block Grant Scholarships

In addition to Individual Scholarships, part of the Sapienza Scholarship’s mission is to fund the existing or planned scholarship programs of local nonprofit organizations that serve students or clients who demonstrate significant financial need. See the 2025 Block Grant Application Guidelines for more information.
